Airplane stands for my Aeronefs

I've been working on different ideas for my aeronef stands - and finally got a solution I'm happy with.

For the Aeronef and Imperial Skies rules, hexagonal bases are required.  I found a guy on eBay who does laser cut acrylic shapes for very competitive prices (20 different sized bases for just £8).  I had some small hexagonal mdf shapes for another project available - and bought a few bits from B&Q.  These were N4 nuts and washers, a 1m length of N4 gauge metal (essentially a very long bolt) and a similar length of plastic tubing.

The nuts are glued to the mdf hex shapes (40 in total).  Once dry, one half are glued to the acrylic hexes, the other half have a washer glued to the reverse side (we'll call this the 'top nut').

Then the N4 guage metal screw is cut to size.  One end screws into the base, the other into the top nut.  This can then be covered (if desired) by a length of plastic tube to mask the screw.

My aeronef have a magnet glued to the bottom of each ship.  This attaches to the washer on the top nut during play - but is easily detachable for packing away.

The only issue is the superglue fumes have fogged the acrylic!  I'll have to find a solution to get this off.
